Small World (Amherst-So. Hadley-Northfield, MN-Muscat, Oman edition)

Traveling in international circles means you are bound to run into a 6 degree situation....here's one:

As noted in the previous post, we were guests at the Festival of Choirs at the American International School in Muscat, Oman. The festival choir director was Christopher Aspaas from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. The day after the concert, as we were checking out of our hotel in Muscat, we ran into him--he looked so familiar. Turns out that in the late 90's he had worked at Mt. Holyoke, and with the choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amherst (my church). So, as we waited for an airport cab he inquired after Bob Weaver, Matt Cron, Lyle Larson and Judy Beyer....and told us stories of the South Dakota choir connections. Only in Oman......
